Gravball is an intense, full-contact sport popular in the Star Wars throughout the entire galaxy. It is played on nearly every play, by nearly every species, at multiple levels and ages.
Gravball games are between two teams, centered around a single ball. Each team has 7 players on the field at one time, split between 4 positions:
- Striker: Strikers are the main goal scorers in gravball. They are typically highly athletic and have great accuracy at shooting the ball. When thrown through the goal it is worth 1 point or 2 points depending on the distance from the goal.
- Midfield: Midfielders are the main facilitators on the team. They typically handle the faceoffs to get control of the ball for their team and help move the ball around the court to get closer to the goal and score.
- Defender: Defenders are the main defensive players on the team. They are the stout anchors at the back, trying to stop the opposing team from advancing towards the goal.
- Keeper: Keepers are the goalie of the goal. Their job is to stop the other players from scoring.

Gravball games are divided into 3 periods of 20 minutes each. If teams are tied at the end of regulation, games go to a 5 minute overtime to try and decide a winner; if they're still tied at the end of overtime the game is a draw. At MFGS the sport of gravball is organized into the
InterGalactic GravBall League (IGGBL). The IGGBL is sub-divided into two leagues - the IGGBL and the IGGBL Championship League (IGGBL-C). As a new owner, you will take control of a team in the IGGBL, where the best teams in the league compete for the IGGBL Championship. But watch out! Those not good enough will find themselves demoted to the IGGBL-C.

You have the selection of any team in the league not currently owned. Once you make your selection, you'll have to wait approval from the Commissioner before being taken to your team. You'll get to evaluate the talent on your roster and decide who needs to play where, and for how much. You can also set your strategies for speed and what formation your team should play in. And while you're here, why not design your jersey! Not satisfied with some of your players? Head over to Free Agency and find out who's available you can offer to sign with your team and improve your roster.
There's plenty of ways to improve your team and make them truly your own. Look around, do what you have to, and make your way to the playoffs to fight for the IGGBL Championship! And don't forget to join us on Discord and discuss with other owners for ideas and tips. See you on the pitch!
