Quidditch is a high-octane, aerial sport popular in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was the first broomstick-based game to attain near-worldwide popularity amongst wizards and witches.
Quidditch matches are between two teams, with 3 different types of balls. Each team has 7 players on the field at one time, split between 4 positions:
- Chaser: Chasers are the main handlers of the Quaffle. The quaffle is a volleyball-sized red leather ball. The goal of the 3 team Chasers is to move down the field with the quaffle and toss it between one of three golden hoops at the end of the pitch. Scoring the quaffle gains a team 10 points.
- Keeper: Keepers are the goalie of the three golden hoops. Their job is to stop the Chasers from scoring the quaffle.
- Beater: Beaters are the ruffians of the gain. A team's 2 Beater's goal is to smack the Bludger (2 are in play) towards opposing players to knock them off their broom and force them to drop the quaffle.
- Seeker: Seekers are probably the most improtant position on the pitch. The job of the team Seeker is to catch the Snitch, a tiny walnut-sized golden ball that flies rapidly and unpredictably throughout the pitch. Catching the snitch is the only way to end the game, and is worth 150 points.

A game of quidditch does not end until the snitch is caught. They can last as little as 20 minutes or as long as multiple hours - even days (but not in our sim)! At MFGS the sport of quidditch is organized into the
British and Irish Quidditch Association (BIQA). The BIQA is sub-divided into leagues (the exact number dependent on how many teams there are). As a new team owner you will start in the lowest league with a new roster of 13 spunky quidditch players. They may or may not be up to the task of winning games and rising through the leagues - that's your decision! The penultimate league is the
Premier League, where the best teams in the BIQA compete for the BIQA Cup. But watch out! Those not good enough will find themselves demoted to a lower league.

You'll start off by deciding where your team will be based from - England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, or Scotland - then picking a town. Once you decide their nickname and create a team, you're taken right to them! You'll get to evaluate the talent on your roster and decide who needs to play where, and for how much. You can also set your strategies for speed, aggression, and when your seeker should catch the snitch. And while you're here, why not design your jersey! Not satisfied with some of your players? Head over to Free Agency and find out who's available you can offer to sign with your team and improve your roster.
Once you're satisfied, don't forget to head over to your stadium and set up your ticket prices. People are going to come to your games, make sure they have to pay for it so you can pay your players! You can gain more money by finding a sponsor as well.
